How does a thermal relief valve work
WebMar 31, 2013 · The thermal relief valve opens to release hot, high-pressure water from the pump system onto the ground to prevent damage to the pump. Hot water builds up when the spray gun is unused for more than 5 minutes while the pump is running. The unloader valve recirculates water back to the pump inlet to control the pressure and temperature. WebWhen the pilot valve reaches set pressure it opens and releases the pressure from the dome. The piston is then free to open and the main valve exhausts the system fluid. The control pilot opens either to the main valve exhaust pipe or to atmosphere. Snap acting At set pressure the valve snaps to full lift.
